About OCR Gateway Science courses

The Gateway suite is the second GCSE suite offered by OCR, the other being the very popular 21st Century Science. Gateway consists of five specifications - Science, Additional Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It emphasises explanations, theories and modelling in science along with the implications of science for society. Strong emphasis is placed on the active involvement of candidates in the learning process and each specification encourages a wide range of teaching and learning activities.
